Intern Student Feature – Autumn Jones

Autumn Jones, a 12th grader at Howe High School, is an intern for Justin Plummer at The Angry Mullet. She interns the second and third hours of every day during the week. Justin Plummer, cashier at the Angry Mullet say, “Autumn benefits the Angry Mullet, by helping get things started in the morning and even works on the weekends when its crazy.” He also states that, “Autumn has excelled in customer relations.”

“Autumn has landed herself a job after school with The Angry Mullet. Great efforts pay off,” Cindy Mitchell, Howe Business Instructor.

Q: Who do you intern for? What is your schedule?

A: I intern at the Angry Mullet from 9:30 to 11:30.

Q: Did you choose your placement? Why or why not?

A: Yes, I was originally going to go to a vets office but it didn’t work out so i decided to give the Angry Mullet a try.

Q: What has been the most challenging part of being an intern?

A: I have had an opportunity to be out of school for a couple hours and not have to take classes that I don’t need.

Q: What kind of work do you do at your internship?

A: I cook, take orders and make sure the restaurant is clean.

Q: How has the internship prepared you for life after high school?

A: It is giving me skills I will need to work after high school.

Q: What have you learned from your internship?

A: I have learned how to work in an environment other than a corporate job.

Q: What advice would you give other students about the internship, that are thinking about internship?

A: It is a great thing and extremely beneficial.

Q: What has been the most challenging part of being an intern?

A: There is a lot of paperwork and assignments involved but it is nothing too difficult.
